British Butcher Offers Great Selection of Barbeque Season Delights

VANCOUVER - With thoughts of summer and barbeque season finally here, I dropped in to The British Butcher shop in North Vancouver recently where I spoke to owner Gerry Davenport about what succulent items he recommended for outdoor grilling.
"We make all our own burgers here," said Gerry, "we have a steak burger, cheese burger, Angus burger, plain burger, bratwurst burger, turkey burger and, something new, is our Mediterranean turkey burger.
"Our specialty beef is our AAA beef from Alberta. We have rib eye, t-bone, sirloin, New York, and prime rib. These steaks are top of the line quality."
The British Butcher offers 34 different kinds of sausages which are also made in-house and great for the barbeque. Alternatively, you could try their lamb chops or free-range chickens.
Gerry said, "we cook our own baby back ribs and chicken and marinate them in sauce, all you need to do is just put them on the barbeque."
One of the barbeque sauces that British Butcher carries is the famous House of Q sauce which has won awards, and is made right here in North Vancouver. You just brush this sauce on whatever you're going to barbeque for a delicious result.
Gerry told me about an exciting development at The British Butcher shop starting every Saturday. "We're going to have a barbeque right outside the shop, where people can stop-by and sample our delicious sausages.
"Our sausages are 95 percent meat, we use boneless leg of pork and boneless picnics, so the leg of pork is where the lean comes into the sausage. We import the spices from England for six of the sausages that we make."
The British Butcher also make several varieties of their own individual and family sized meat pies that are all ready to be taken home and heated-up for dinner. They also carry all the specialty British bacon and black and white pudding for those special UK breakfasts, along with a good selection of British groceries. Wholesale orders are welcome.
