VANCOUVER - Summer in the city, and Scottish Country Dancing returns to Stanley Park on June 9 and continues every Monday evening until August 18. Dancing begins at 7:30 PM weather permitting.
Scottish Country Dancing is social dancing. No partner is required and audience participation is encouraged.
All of the dances are briefed and the friendly members of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society will assist beginners. Bring a picnic and enjoy free entertainment listening to the stirring music of Scotland or join in the fun of the dance.
Evenings of special interest include:
June 16 - Official opening with the Vancouver Demonstration and Pipe Band.
June 30 - Gleaneagles Club entertains with the Vancouver Fiddle Orchestra.
July 7 - Children and family night.
August 11 - Ceilidh night with the irrepressible Duncan Mackenzie. No one sits still!
