Another Step Forward for Irish Cultural Centre

VANCOUVER - Plans for a new Irish cultural centre and senior's project to be located at 208 - 83rd Avenue in Langley have taken another step forward with the erection of a development rezoning sign by the Township of Langley.

Another milestone for the project was the meeting at the Township of Langley on May 5 where it was recommended to go forward with stipulations to a public hearing.

Wording on the development sign reads as follows: Township of Langley Development Proposal RZ100301 Athenry Dev. Ltd. 1504-888-3471.

Application to rezone properties from suburban residential zone to and 1,617 square meters comprehensive development zone to allow for a mixed use senior's facility, including 199 seniors' housing units and (7.2 mm sq. ft.) of retail.

A mixed use building including an 1,115 sq meters (12,000 sq ft) Irish Heritage Society Cultural Centre, 2,823 sq. meters (30,387.5 sq. ft.) of commercial space, and 15 residential units and the relocation and renovation of the Willoughby Hall. A DP is being considered in conjunction with this rezoning.
